Prologue

It was a quiet night in Manehattan. Well, about as "quiet" as the city that never sleeps can get.

A black-coated pegasus in his early twenties was fast asleep on a cot in the corner of an apartment complex on the southern side of the city. The wooden floors were left barren, the carpets having been removed recently. A single dresser sat on the opposite side of the apartment, with a few empty picture frames atop it. A wooden desk was placed by a window on the south wall, also with almost nothing on it. Several cardboard boxes were littered throughout the room, taped shut.
